Minibeasts!
Senior Infants have been learning all about minibeasts this month. We celebrated World Bee Day and we also grew caterpillars in our classroom. We were fascinated watching them change from caterpillar to butterfly and we were a little sad to let them go!

Dunmore Machales Design a Flag Competition
Well done to our winner of the junior section of the competition!
Trip to the Library
We were very lucky to be invited to the library to take part in a workshop with author Jane Landy recently. The children had a great time listening to Jane's story, "Gringer the Whinger," viewing some original illustrations and also drawing their own illustrations for Jane's lovely story. Jane also kindly gave us a copy of "Gringer the Whinger," for our class library. Thanks to our local librarian Linda and to Jane for a very enjoyable morning.
Senior Infants 2021/22
What a fantastic year we've had in Senior Infants, happy holidays everyone!
Our Butterfly Journey Comes to an End!
As part of our minibeasts topic recently, we have been looking after caterpillars in the classroom. We have observed them as caterpillars, making their chrysalis and finally emerging as beautiful butterflies. The children really enjoyed taking care of them and witnessing the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. They were sad to see them fly away today!

Christmas in Senior Infants
Senior Infants were very busy in the weeks coming up to Christmas! We completed lots of art, read many Christmas stories and learned about Christmas around the world. Our elf Snowflake came to keep an eye on us for Santa and we finished off with a hot chocolate party. Merry Christmas everyone!
Science Week in Senior Infants
We had great fun carrying out lots of experiments for Science Week. We grew gummy bears, made rain clouds and rainbows and explored magnetism. We also made raisins dance!
