Dunmore MacHales was founded in 1887, that’s longer than Liverpool F.C have been together!
1891, 1900, 1902, 1907, 1910, 1912, 1953, 1961, 1963, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1973, 1983 were the years Dunmore won in championships. Dunmore is home to Dunmore MacHales Football Club and the Donnellan brothers John and Pat who played for Galway when they won the “Three in a Row All-Irelands”. Dunmore MacHales won 17 county championships. MacHales best year was 1993. Dunmore MacHales Ladies G.A.A was founded in August in 1999. In 2000, the Ladies Junior team won the County Junior Championship and League. The Under 12 team were County League Champions in 2002 and then the team went on to win the All Ireland Community Games. |
